As a function of the coordinated work between State institutions, the President, Roxana Soriano and the President of the Tribunal Supremo Electoral, Dora Esmeralda Martinez signed a historic Cooperation Agreement to guarantee the transparency and adequate use of public resources allocated through the Special Extraordinary Budget for the 2024 elections.

The establishment of this alliance will allow verifying the funds used in the organization, convocation, direction and surveillance of the electoral process for President and Vice President of the Republic, deputies to the Central American Parliament and the Legislative Assembly, as well as the members of the 2024 municipal councils. Carrying out a continuous follow-up from its organization until the closing with the final declaration of the results.

The document empowers this Governing Body of the Entidad Fiscalizadora Superior and Tribunal Supremo Electoral to carry out concurrent audits and/or preventive actions when deemed necessary, periodically during the electoral event.

It also authorizes the Court to provide technical advice and training to the TSE in matters of auditing and control of public resources when required.

Likewise, it will allow the auditors access to its facilities and records necessary to carry out the control actions.

Both the Entidad Fiscalizadora Superior and the Tribunal Supremo Electoral are committed to the correct use of public funds in order to demonstrate to the public the institutional evolution and show that the Court is taking actions to prevent and combat corruption.
