TSE defines position of political party banners on ballots

The Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) carried out the draw to establish the position of flags and distinctive elements of political parties and coalitions on the more than 24 million ballot papers to be printed for the 2024 elections.

On the presidential ballot the order was as follows:

In box 1: the Partido Fuerza Solidaria with candidate José Renderos.

In box 2: the Partido FMLN  with candidate Manuel Flores.

In box 3: the Partido ARENA with the candidate Joel Sanchez.

In box 4: the Partido Nuestro Tiempo with the candidate

In box 5: the Partido Fraternidad Patriota Salvadoreña with candidate Marina Murillo

In box 6: the Partido Nuevas Ideas with candidate Nayib Bukele.

On the side of the ballots for mayors, the order of the parties was as follows:

The presiding magistrate, Dora Esmeralda Martínez, explained that this procedure is carried out prior to the printing of the ballots that will be delivered in the electoral packages for the elections of february and march.

The event was attended by the Fiscalía Electoral, Junta de Vigilancia Electoral (JVE),representatives of political parties, magistrates of the TSE, and staff of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).

This activity is stipulated in Article 186 of the Electoral Code, paragraph B, which also states that "each flag shall be printed with the photographs and names of their respective candidates", as well as "the names of the respective alternates in the order in which they were presented by their respective political parties or coalitions, in accordance with the results of their internal elections".
