"This day, El Salvador has broken all records, of all democracies in the world", said the elected president during the beginning of his speech.
The president assured that with more than 85% of the votes he has won the presidency and that his party has won 58 deputies, out of a total of 60.
Bukele emphasized that this would be the first time that in a country there is a single party in a democratic system: "all the opposition, together, was pulverized".
"The salvadoran people spoke, and not only spoke loud and clear, but they spoke in the most forceful way in the entire history of democracy in the whole world", he said.
The Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) is still developing the preliminary scrutiny.
