The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) held a meeting with the minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, to approve a $50 million loan for the purchase of low-income housing.

The loan will be used for loans for low-income housing with a maximum amount of US$40,000, with green components, and a majority of which will go to women.

The minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, met with IDB representatives to discuss aspects related to the technical cooperation that will subsequently allow the financing of housing programs on a national scale, which will be part of the thousands of projects that have been carried out in the sector during the almost five years of its administration.

During the meeting, Minister Sol and IDB representatives discussed different projects in which municipalities are key players in the development and reduction of the housing deficit.

In addition, they will work on a value chain study that will be an instrument to measure and have figures on how housing impacts other aspects of life.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted that US$905 million have been invested in loans, housing construction, deeds and resettlement, benefiting more than 97,000 families.

She said that the government has focused on providing adequate housing to change the quality of life of families, improve the family economy, health and other fundamental aspects.
