According to a study conducted by the Fundación Salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (FUSADES), there are owners of micro, small and medium enterprises that have mentioned that they do not use computers or digital elements because they do not consider them necessary.

According to the study, this is due to the lack of knowledge of people, for the advantages offered by technological tools in their businesses. On the side of internet access also according to the data found, they mention that most of them have access to the network, however, only 40% of the businesses have a fixed connection.

Among the reasons found for these problems are the connectivity difficulties in some areas of El Salvador, in addition to the fact that the people who own MSMEs are over 45 years old and claim that they do not have sufficient knowledge to use computers.

In conclusion, FUSADES emphasized that it is necessary to direct programs that help close the digital gaps that exist in people over 40 years old who, in smaller enterprises, is where they have more difficulties to enter the technological world.
