Commission rules in favor of creating law for regularization of subdivisions

The Public Works, Transportation and Housing Commission continues working in coordination with government institutions to solve the problems of thousands of families who have not been able to legalize their land or lots, due to different tricks of some lotification companies.

In this monday's work session, the deputies issued a favorable opinion for the Creation of the Special Law for the Regularization of Lot and Parcelization for Residential Use, which seeks to be of a permanent nature.

The president of the working group, Salvador Chacón, explained that this regulatory framework establishes the procedure to regularize the lots and provides new guidelines for those who go to the relevant institutions to process the deeds of their lots.

The minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, stated that the legal framework establishes the regularization, legalization and authorization of housing lots developed and marketed before september 7, 2012.

This law seeks to respond to many cases registered before 2012, which include more than 350,000 families who have paid for their lots partially or in full and have not received their deeds.

The regulation, the minister continued, determines processes with established deadlines to regulate and register lots that comply with all the requirements. Those processes initiated under different or past regulations may also continue to be processed.

In its articles, the regulation contemplates the creation of a universe of new subdivisions to be regularized and determines that, within the first six months of the law's effectiveness, the notifiers must declare the subdivision.
