Now, in 2023, the government had budgeted US$85 million for LPG subsidies in the first few months, but it is decided that it will be extended until may.
Last year alone, the authorities provided free transportation for 3.5 million passengers using routes 42 and 152, saving users US$1.5 million in fares. Then, as for the subsidy to maintain bus fares via COTRANS, the State contributed US$12.4 million.
In the same year, the subsidy to the electric energy rate totaled US$54.3 million and that of potable water, US$104.8 million.
Some of the programs best appreciated by the population are in education. For example, the delivery of laptops and tablets to all students in the public system (1.2 million students) and also to teachers. In educational centers, food and complete school packages are provided. By 2023, these last two benefits are within a programmed amount of US$78.2 million.
The Ministerio de Desarrollo Local and the Ministerio de Agricultura, together with the Bienestar Social initiative of the First Lady of the Republic, Gabriela de Bukele, have teams to deliver food packages to vulnerable groups of the population. Local Development will also allocate US$24.8 million for pensions for senior citizens and people with disabilities (people who for various reasons did not contribute formally).
Other actions that the population can attest to are the 50 agromarkets in operation and the more than 300,000 inspections that have been carried out by institutions such as the Defensoría del Consumidor.. This entity, in addition, has achieved refunds for $70.8 million, since june 2019, for some 388,149 consumers.
