There are 16 strategic AgroMercados nationwide in order to efficiently contain inflation and meet the needs of the people.

This strategy allows national producers to relate and do business directly with consumers, thus ensuring that there are no intermediaries and that their prices are not affected by speculative situations.

In this way, it will facilitate bringing food from the countryside and agribusiness directly to the tables of salvadoran families. In addition, this launch, by the Central Government, contributes to mitigate the impact of the international inflationary crisis in the country.

In the AgroMercados, the population will be able to find poultry products, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, coffee, meats, agro-industrial products and more, at an exact price and precise weight.

In addition, the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Oscar Domínguez, explained that there will be fair prices for basic grains, such as beans, as well as vegetables and meats. He also explained that producers will receive their profits from sales.

These marketing spaces will reach the strategic municipalities of the country, being these: Apopa, Soyapango, San Marcos, Ilopango and Ciudad Delgado, in San Salvador; La Libertad, Santa Tecla and Quezaltepeque, in La Libertad; Sonsonate, Ahuachapán and Santa Ana, in the west of the country; San Miguel, Moncagua, San Miguel; Chalatenango and Zacatecoluca, La Paz.

With the launch of the 16 AgroMercados nationwide, MAG reaffirms its commitment to continue working on various initiatives to support the economy of the agricultural sector; one of them, for example, the supply of agricultural inputs at fair prices with AgroCenta, an action coordinated with the Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal (CENTA).
