Prices of regular and premium gasoline increase between US$0.14 and US$0.10 per gallon

The Ministerio de Economía (MINEC), announced the new reference prices of fuels that will be in effect from february 7 to 20, 2023, reflecting an increase of between US$0.14 and U$0.10 in regular gasoline and a slight decrease of US$0.04 in diesel.

For the central zone, premium gasoline will cost US$4.51, regular gasoline US$4.30 and diesel US$4.60.

For those who purchase premium fuel in the western zone the cost is US$4.52, regular US$4.31 and diesel US$4.61.

In the eastern zone for carriers who buy premium gasoline they will find it at US$4.56, regular at US$4.34 and diesel at US$4.64.

According to MINEC, this is due to the increase in interest rates announced by the United States Federal Reserve (FED), which impacts the international prices of hydrocarbons.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) announced that in February oil reserves increased; however, it did not affect the international price, due to the consumption during january 2023, except for diesel.

In addition, the production reduction by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) continues, causing a mixed trend in the international prices of oil and its derivatives.
