Propane gas prices remain unchanged for the month of april

Written by Karla Gutiérrez

The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) informed about the retail prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders in its different presentations for this month of april.

Propane gas prices are regulated with subsidy for close to one million salvadoran families, therefore prices are maintained.

The costs of this LPG have not varied, the institution also indicated that the Government maintains the subsidy of US$8.04.

The 25-pound drum, the most used by salvadorans, will have a price of US$11.13 applying the government subsidy and will cost US$3.09.

The subsidized price of the 35-pound cylinder will be US$7.46 (maximum sale price US$15.50); the 20-pound cylinder will be US$0.94 (maximum sale price US$8.98); and the 10-pound cylinder will be US$0.00 (maximum sale price US$4.61).

The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas has two subsidies applied to the sale of liquefied gas: a targeted subsidy that fixes the price in the market, in force until may 31, 2024, and the targeted subsidy through the solidarity cards.

Fuel prices are currently experiencing upward pressure due to international factors such as the geopolitical tension generated in the Middle East, which has been increased by the attacks on military and cargo ships in the Red Sea and in the "Bab el-Mandeb" strait.
