BCR indicates El Salvador exported US$184.2 million in sugar up to november 2023

The country exported US$184.2 million in sugar with a sales price of US$21.09 per quintal from january through november 2023.

Raw sugar exports represented 3% of total exports, according to the database of the Banco Central de Reserva.

The main destinations to which the raw sweetener was exported were: Canada, which bought US$72.3 million, representing 39.3% of exports; followed by the United States with US$42.2 million, or 22.9% of the total.

In recent years, the country has also exported sugar to South Korea, which purchased around $25.9 million, or 14.1%, up to november of last year; Peru, with US$13.2 million and 22% of exports; and Belgium, with US$9.7 million, the fifth country, which purchased 5.3% of total exports.
