CMI Alimentos, a group of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), announced an important investment in its Avícola Salvadoreña processing plan, located in Zapotitán, Ciudad Arce. These improvements represent an important milestone in the company's commitment to strengthening the country's food security.

With an investment of US$7 million, various improvements have been implemented in the poultry processing plant, resulting in greater efficiency in its processes, as well as quality and safety in the products that reach its consumers and customers, with brands that are part of the local flavor, such as Pollo Indio.

"This investment allows us to continue optimizing our processes, which enables us to provide quality products to our customers and consumers. With these efforts, we consolidate our leadership in the poultry industry in the country and the region, generating employment, development opportunities and food security for salvadorans", said Emilio Porta, general manager of Soluciones Cárnicas CMI.

The improvements made at the plant include the modernization of equipment, the implementation of state-of-the-art technology and the optimization of production processes.

This also translates into benefits for its employees, offering safer environments to work and perform their functions to meet the demands of consumers.

This investment is part of CMI's investment plan announced in 2022, which focuses on infrastructure, technology and innovation, thus promoting sustainable development with an impact on people, families and communities.

The plant employs more than 800 salvadorans, 50% of whom are women and 40% of whom are locals. CMI Alimentos is also committed to community development and supports the local authorities of Ciudad Arce with important projects that benefit the local population, thus contributing to the economic and social development of the municipality.

With a comprehensive and sustainable vision, CMI seeks to promote food security in the countries where it operates through environmentally friendly processes that generate a positive impact on individuals, families and communities.

Part of the investment in the facilities includes the implementation of state-of-the-art technology in the wastewater plant, which translates into more efficient management of discharges and operational optimization of the sanitation system.

The corporation has implemented innovative nutritional solutions in its poultry and animal feed farms, which have contributed to reducing more than 80,000 tons of CO2 over a three-year period in its Central American operations.

In El Salvador alone, they have avoided 13,000 tons of CO2 with these good practices.

In this way, CMI Alimentos fulfills its purpose "We feed your world to fill it with well-being", contributing to the economic development of the countries where it operates and the implementation of good practices that guarantee the care of the environment and food security in the region.
