"Treasury efficiency continues to be at the center of Citi's digital agenda for its clients. Data is increasingly critical for treasurers and CFOs, and Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions is committed to helping clients drive digital adoption across Latin America and connect directly with the bank through CitiConnect APIs that leverage machine learning, artificial intelligence and instant payments, including wallets, QR code and open banking. We are also implementing our new state-of-the-art CitiDirect self-service platform, which includes account opening, statements and billing", said Driss Temsamani, director of Digital Solutions for Citi Latin America.
"Citi's offering is designed to assist clients in their decision making, cash forecasting, liquidity management, working capital, risk management, fraud and cybersecurity".
Winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy to attract and serve digital clients, success in getting clients to use digital offerings, growth in digital clients, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives, as well as website/mobile design and functionality.
Marcelo Gorrini, CEO for the Central America and Caribbean region commented that Citi continues to invest and strengthen the digital experience of its clients in the areas of payments, liquidity, trade finance and working capital management.
"We have been making strategic investments in our digital platform to optimize access to our customers, which has been essential in the expansion of our solutions and services in Latin America. The digitalization of our clients to achieve a two-way interaction was the initial stage. With this investment we have been able to support them more efficiently", said the CEO.
The CitiDirect Digital Onboarding platform has expanded to 12 countries across Latin America and the bank has also launched the Citi Digital Account in seven of those markets.
