For the Mother's Day celebration, the United States was filled with Colombian and ecuadorian flowers. Avianca Cargo announced the transportation of 17,500 tons during the Mother's Day season, 92% of which were flowers. Thanks to the operation of more than 420 flights from Colombia and Ecuador, the airline exceeded by 26% the tons mobilized during the same period of 2021.

"At Avianca Cargo we continue to work to offer more and more capacity to flower growers during peak flower seasons. We continue with a robust strategy, expanding our air and ground operations capacity and increasing our team to provide quality service to our customers and meet market demand. After a successful Valentine's Day season, we are once again recording historic figures for Mother's Day, reaffirming our position as a leader in the transportation of flowers from the region to the United States", said Gabriel Oliva, CEO of Avianca Cargo.

Thanks to the airline's more than 130 weekly frequencies, Bogota led the way in the transport of roses and carnations, while pompons, hydrangeas and chrysanthemums predominated from Medellin. From Quito, roses of all colors and gypsophila were the main shipments.

Exports from Colombia and Ecuador to Miami and the rest of the United States continue to position these countries as one of the largest flower producers in the world and Mother's Day as the most important date for the industry. Avianca Cargo has been the best ally of flower growers for more than 49 years and will be for many years to come.
