The government of President Nayib Bukele continues working to promote trade in the region and has taken a firm step in this direction, achieving the union of the Central American region that is so expected, it is the start of operations of the ferry between El Salvador and Costa Rica.

"The first route will start on thursday, august 10 (...) It is planned to have two round trips per week", informed the presidential commissioner for Strategic Projects, Cristian Flores, about the beginning of operations of the ferry with Costa Rica.

The official mentioned that the company Blue Wave Harmony will be in charge of operating the ferry and among the benefits he mentions the reduction of the transfer times of the merchandise, with this new route, which will go from five days to 24 hours.

He also said that the ferry will improve the competitiveness of both countries on a regional scale, will clear the roads by reducing land transportation, will increase foreign investment in the industry, there will be greater use and profitability of the Port of La Union, and will stimulate the development of port infrastructure.

For Flores, the establishment of the ferry is also a sign of the good relationship between the Central Government and the private sector at a national and international level, also a sign of the confidence and good business climate in the country.

"There are approximately 14 institutions that have made this possible, but the most important thing to highlight is all the work of President Bukele at the diplomatic and commercial level, and taking this leadership because it goes beyond political will. It takes leadership for two nations to come to an agreement", stated Commissioner Flores.

This important maritime logistics project between El Salvador and Costa Rica is the first in the entire region and opens many commercial opportunities between both nations.
