In 2022, the Climate Resilience program benefited 1,049 producers across the country, who were selected from the registration base of the Sistema de Información de Caficultura (SICAFS), with a representation of 380 women (36.2%) and 669 men. An important change is to ensure that the measures reach producers who are fully dedicated to this noble crop.
This activity has the potential to generate more than 40,000 jobs per season, plus a number of extra jobs for all the care required for the production and marketing chain. For this reason, the Central Government continues to lead initiatives to realize this potential.
One of the objectives of the Climate Resilience program is to promote equal participation. The greatest participation of women occurred in the Apaneca - Ilamatepec mountain range, registering a total of 208 women, representing nearly 20% of the beneficiaries served by the program in 2022.
Along with production, the institutions join efforts to promote aromatic coffee in local, regional and international markets. The country's representatives abroad contribute to the campaigns so that more consumers know the benefits of salvadoran coffee.
In fact, it is very well positioned: the Consejo Salvadoreño del Café (CSC) registered that the salvadoran quintal has been negotiated with an extra $61.26 and is quoted at US$243.91 for the harvest corresponding to the 2022-2023 cycle.
