Diaspora to invest close to US$400 million in El Salvador by 2022

The diaspora is a sector that contributes to the dynamization of the salvadoran economy, which now feels more supported.

El Salvador's ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, said in a morning interview that salvadorans living in the United States have committed to make a millionaire investment in 2022.

The diplomat indicated that, for this year, salvadorans living outside the country will invest US$400 million in more than 100 projects, in different areas, and added that the average investment of salvadorans in the United States ranges between US$1 million and US$2 million.

She said that there is a group of investors in the country that plans to invest US$1,200 million in hotel complexes.

She also emphasized that the diaspora investor is looking to bring development to their places of origin. Salvadorans are enthusiastic to invest or return to visit the country.

The diplomat affirmed that the security model implemented in El Salvador will be replicated in other countries, security is vital to attract investment and tourism to the country.
