"As of today, all of you will benefit from the ‘Soy becado BCR’ program, which has supported more than 5,000 young people. This program has the particularity that young people can decide in which university they want to study and the career”, said the president of BCR.

The scholarships awarded are for technical and university studies to young people of limited economic resources who have an outstanding academic performance.

“The government of President Nayib Bukele is demonstrating with facts that in order to build a new country, young people with training and knowledge are needed”, said Douglas Rodríguez.

Of the 134 scholarships awarded today, 89 will be for technical careers in areas such as software development, marketing, bilingual tourism, computer science, automotive mechanics, among others.

Similarly, 45 of the scholarships are for university careers such as: electrical, industrial, computer and mechatronics engineering, communications, modern languages, international relations, tourism, economics, and finance, among others.

The president of BCR encouraged the young people to continue striving to achieve their goals and become great professionals who contribute to the progress of El Salvador, inviting them to go ahead and use their knowledge for the common good and to make the most of this scholarship that will allow them to continue their higher education.
