The format to file the Income Tax (ISR) return is now available at the Ministry of Finance, this applies to both individuals and legal entities.

This declaration must be filed in a timely manner and with all the information requested by the Treasury, otherwise the entity could impose a fine to the citizen.

The first step is to enter the website www.mh.gob.sv, once inside the site, you must look for the icon where it says "income tax return", which is located at the bottom of the main page of the site.

If this is the first time you are going to file the tax return, you must register with an e-mail account and the number of your Documento Único de Identidad (DUI).

If you have already done this process, the system will ask you to enter your DUI number and password. If for any reason you forgot your password, the platform will provide the option to recover it.

After logging in, the entire return will be displayed, you must verify that the income coincides with what is stated in the tax returns, if you wish to add other income and deductions or expenses, you can do so by clicking on the "Modify" button, located at the bottom of the page.

If the return presents a refund, you have the option of having it deposited in a bank account, which must be active, in the taxpayer's name and not joint.

Then a "Next" button will appear and must be clicked: enter address, e-mail and telephone number, and then press the "Next" button. A summary of the entire declaration is immediately displayed, and if everything is correct, click on the "Submit declaration" button.
