The government of El Salvador has bet on increasing tourism in the country, in order to attract foreign exchange to the State's coffers, so in order to make more of the national territory known to foreigners, the Miss Universe contest was held to attract more attention from the world.

On thursday night, november 16, Miss Universe held its second edition prior to the grand finale on saturday, november 18, where the new beauty queen of the most important pageant in the world will be crowned.

The Miss Universe preliminaries kicked off on wednesday, november 15 at the Gimnasio Adolfo Pineda, where salvadorans gathered to watch the candidates debut on the runway in swimsuits and evening gowns.

The candidates for Miss Universe are already preparing to participate in the world's largest beauty pageant, which will be held in El Salvador and will take place next saturday, november 18.
