The head of said institution, Rolando Castro, explained that due to a series of labor accidents that resulted in deaths, safety and occupational health verifications were intensified in 58 construction companies, and 57 of them presented non-compliances.
In view of this, a sanctioning process was activated for these firms and a period of around 15 days was defined to solve the faults pointed out by the Labor Ministry.
During the investigation process, failures were found such as non-payment of overtime, non-payment of night surcharge, non-compliance with working hours, non-payment of social benefits, among others.
