Written by Karla Gutiérrez

The Ministry of Labor announced that the non-compliances identified in construction companies generated serious infractions which, if not corrected, would have to pay significant fines ranging between US$98 thousand and US$3.8 million.

The head of said institution, Rolando Castro, explained that due to a series of labor accidents that resulted in deaths, safety and occupational health verifications were intensified in 58 construction companies, and 57 of them presented non-compliances.

In view of this, a sanctioning process was activated for these firms and a period of around 15 days was defined to solve the faults pointed out by the Labor Ministry.
