The Ministry of Finance through the Dirección General de Impuestos Internos (DGII) has gone to different businesses to ensure the issuance of invoices and tax documents, in order to prevent abuses to the population on Valentine's Day.

Usually on this day, salvadorans consume different goods or services typical of the season, such as restaurants, candy stores among others, which is why the monitoring of these establishments avoids unjustified increases.

According to the Treasury Department, the operations are being carried out in different shopping centers, and auditors of the DGII inspected the due compliance of tax obligations and the correct collection of VAT in accordance with the provisions of the law.

These tax controls are carried out in all economic sectors of the country in order to encourage timely and accurate payment by taxpayers and verify that the taxes paid by salvadorans are transferred to the coffers of the State.
