Through social networks the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA) confirmed a 20% increase in cargo movement at El Salvador's airport.

Statistics point out that CEPA, between january 1 to january 28, 2024, the air cargo terminal has mobilized 2.2 million kilograms in imports and exports.

Cargo movement at the terminal has been through the eight airlines that operate within the platform, such as Amerijet, Copa Cargo, Transportes Aéreos de Guatemala, UPS, DHL, and FedEx.

To increase this supply, CEPA's president, Federico Anliker, informed that new cargo airlines are expected to arrive in the country this year, which will allow for greater movement of goods and products for both export and import.

He also assured that they continue working to attract new cargo airlines to the country, and informed that recently, together with their strategic partner Adimex, who operates the terminal through a Public Private Partnership [PPP], they held meetings with a company that is interested in operating in El Salvador.

Last year, CEPA and Adimex acquired new X-ray equipment with Dual View technology, which complies with international operating standards and guarantees safety and efficiency in the handling of processed cargo.
