Camarasal and Voces Vitales held the Pitch Competiction for women entrepreneurs

Written by Karla Gutiérrez

Camarasal and Voces Vitales held the Pitch Competition, in which 10 women business leaders and participants of the We3A program presented their growth plan before specialized jurors, who awarded five of them with consultancies in e-commerce, merchandising and branding.

The activity was held on saturday, march 9, with the participation of Camarasal's president, Leticia Escobar, as well as Cinddy Fernández and Claudia Gazzolo, directors of the association, who participated as judges.

This Pitch Competition is not only a competition, but also a platform to highlight the innovation, vision and passion that drive these women entrepreneurs in each of their projects”, said Escobar.

The project has three main pillars with specific objectives to meet the greater goal of strengthening women-led businesses by promoting more opportunities through gender-sensitive investment and providing training to increase their business competitiveness.

The first pillar, Aspire, seeks to provide inspiration to women entrepreneurs through success stories of other women who have strived to grow their businesses. It also seeks to develop relationships with key people in the local ecosystem. In addition, it aims to motivate buyers from different national and international companies to initiate or strengthen their inclusive purchasing program.

The Activate component will employ a wide range of digital tools that will facilitate the participation of numerous women-led SMEs in the region and increase the capacity of local partners, who will be able to continue accessing digital resources after the end of the project. It is the component that assists and accompanies women who wish to start their businesses or strengthen their current ventures.

To this end, a series of training activities such as Dreambuilder, Financing your dreams and Value Chains, among others, are being offered. The invitation is being extended through social networks and mailings, as well as registration through the link: www.dreambuilder.org/activate

Finally, the Accelerate component focuses on providing tools to boost the growth of women-led businesses, positioning them in support and networking networks to build alliances and expand their business opportunities. Women will be offered intensive participation in the acceleration program, and women-led SMEs that are ready to integrate into value chains will have the opportunity to establish contacts with buyers.

"This program is 100% in line with the purpose of our partnership. Voces Vitales El Salvador seeks to empower Salvadoran women to have access to better economic opportunities", says Verónica Castro, President of Voces Vitales El Salvador. "We are pleased to participate with the Chamber of Commerce as local entities for the coordination of the We3A project. We look forward to strengthening women's businesses within the value chains of the companies".

We know the tremendous challenge of being a businesswoman in our country, so from Camarasal we have made the necessary efforts to give more support and representation to women. We are very pleased to see how we are continuing this work with this We3A program", said Yesenia Salas, Camarasal's Director of Technical Affairs.

"By investing in programs like WE3A, we help strengthen the next generation of women entrepreneurs who will change the world", said Sanjeev Khagram, dean and CEO of Thunderbird School of Global Management. "At Thunderbird, we are committed to the success of our community, creating opportunities and generating results that create equitable and sustainable prosperity around the world".
