Best Agroinnova Program Entrepreneurship awarded in San Vicente, El Salvador

Written by Leydin Sorto

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) together with the European Union (EU) and the Government of Germany, through KfW, awarded 26 entrepreneurs, 21 of whom are women, from the department of San Vicente, El Salvador.

The 26 entrepreneurs completed a training process aimed at encouraging the development and implementation of business projects, which were facilitated by the Agroinnova business growth program, with the support of the DINAMICA II Initiative.

In addition to the training process, the entrepreneurs participated in a competition to obtain technical assistance and seed capital, which will allow them to grow their businesses. Of these, the DINAMICA II Initiative awarded first place to Energy Fruit, with non-reimbursable funds of US$3,000.00.

Miguel Burgos Torres is the owner of the Energy Fruit brand, a natural energy and hydrating drink, and notes that "the experience has been very enriching because I have learned about food safety, production processes, finances, and other topics. With the seed capital we want to invest in a pasteurizer to have a standardized product ready for the market.

Among the knowledge acquired, the entrepreneurs received lectures on cost management, business management, marketing, minimum viable product development, production and quality processes, and business models, among others. They also strengthened their networks with other entrepreneurs, professionals, and support institutions in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The DINAMICA II Initiative will continue to support the Agroinnova program, soon in its Sonsonate edition, which seeks to support entrepreneurs in the food, beverage, and natural products industry to develop new business models, with which it expects to have a positive impact on another 25 entrepreneurs in the area.
