Written by Coralia Cuellar

According to the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, this initiative seeks to establish all the necessary provisions so that public and autonomous institutions can access the technological tools offered by Google, which will advance the modernization process.

The aim is to boost the economy of El Salvador and through alliances with strategic partners such as Google, to promote the use of new technologies as a fundamental axis to achieve development and boost the country to an increasingly digital direction.

In view of the above, minister Hayem, presented before the Legislative Assembly a bill for one of the largest technology companies in the world to establish operations in the country: Google.

"Today, at the request of President Nayib Bukele, we bring to the Legislative Assembly a decree that basically supports the strategic alliance with Google that we announced last week, and that will allow in the next seven years to modernize key areas for economic and social development", explained the official.

In the case of health, professionals will have access to the use of artificial intelligence; in education, the alliance for workspace will continue, in addition to the development of a unified platform where teachers and parents can access information.

It is important to mention that red tape has been one of the main obstacles to the country's economic growth, something that the Executive has been working on and that will be streamlined with the digitalization of the services of the different institutions.
