The implementation of the Program seeks to strengthen the international logistics chain by streamlining customs operations through the simplification and improvement of customs clearance processes using new technologies, which will provide economic benefits to users as a result of a reduction in the processing time of foreign trade operations.

Topics discussed included the benefits of the certification granted by the Dirección de Adunas de El Salvador and the components of the technical assistance that COEXPORT and USAID's Regional Trade Facilitation and Border Management Project provide to companies.

Silvia Cuellar, President of COEXPORT, explained that certification as a Reliable Operator is an investment for companies. To date, 30 companies have received technical assistance, 5 of which have achieved accreditation.

Benjamín Mayorga, Director General of Customs, spoke of the importance of encouraging more companies to adopt the figure of reliable operator, currently there are 13 salvadoran companies certified.

The Reliable Operator certification is granted to companies that comply with customs and tax regulations and implement processes that allow traceability, security and predictability of their operations.

Among the 13 companies that have achieved certification so far are Termoencogibles, Lactolac, Bemisal, Inco, CLT and Diana.

Among the advantages offered by the program are the following:

• Priority attention to customs procedures and operations.
• Reduction of immediate and subsequent verifications
• Virtual customs that will allow the clearance of imports and exports from the operator's facilities, as well as the administration, control and assignment of customs seals.
• Use of the Reliable Operator's badges.
