The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) informed that fuel prices valid from october 17 to 30, 2023 will go down as of tomorrow, tuesday.
In the central zone, premium gasoline will drop US$0.27, regular gasoline US$0.31 and diesel for the first time in several weeks will drop US$0.14. In the western zone, super gasoline will drop US$0.27, regular US$0.31 and diesel US$0.15. While in the eastern zone, super will drop US$0.27, regular US$0.31 cents and diesel US$0.14.
Average prices for special gasoline will be US$4.48 per gallon to US$4.52; regular gasoline could be between US$4.26 and US$4.30; while diesel between US$4.50 and US$4.54 per gallon.
The DGEHM indicates that some of the international situations that influence prices currently being handled in El Salvador have caused prices to be lower compared to the last two weeks.
The increases in the production of OPEC countries in the month of september and the increase in oil and gasoline reserves reported by the International Energy Agency (IEA) is what has driven down the international prices of hydrocarbons.
Also, the lifting of Russia's export restrictions on diesel fuel, allowing for lower international prices.
