Ministry of Finance approves loans of more than US$200 million for project execution

Deputies belonging to the Treasury and Special Budget Committee of the Legislative Assembly have issued a favorable opinion to modify and manage the request for a loan of more than US$200 million.

The first financing will be with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), for up to US$214,700,000 to finance the Program to Reduce the Digital Divide in Schools in El Salvador.

This loan is intended to cover most of the tools and supplies that contribute to a better education for salvadoran children and youth.

The second modification is to the reform of the 2021 Budget Law to incorporate resources to different public institutions in which US$19,295,485 will be included.

The second loan is for the execution of Phase IV of the Plan Control Territorial.

Congressman Cristian Guevara expressed that the public education sector must be better than the private sector with this investment which will seek the development of the educational system. He affirmed that the financing is totally transparent.

The head of the Unidad Normativa de Adquisiciones y Contrataciones de la Administración Pública (UNAC) saidd out that this bill is a project that will bring economic and social impulse to the country. Through this proposal, the quality of life of salvadorans will be improved.
