A true battle of flavors was experienced in the semifinal of the Pepsi cooking contest last friday, march 11, where the culinary talents of four participants were put to the test by preparing an exquisite recipe, seeking to stand out and be chosen by the judges to move on to the next round.

The competition began with great excitement, where Erika González, Boris Chávez, Oswaldo Martínez and Leydi Mejía had 30 minutes to prepare a delicious salvadoran ceviche with surprise ingredients, such as alguashte, pineapple, mango and sweet potato, to impress the group of judges through their culinary skills.

For the four participants it has not been easy to get this far, as they were chosen among more than 200 people who sent their recipe via Whatsapp to be part of the contest and demonstrate their creativity in the kitchen.

"This is an initiative that was born from the interest of approaching our consumers through gastronomy, but also to generate appreciation of culinary art in El Salvador and demonstrate that all delicious dishes are always more enjoyable when accompanied by a Pepsi", Gabriela Monroy, Coordinator of the brand, commented.

For this phase, the jury was made up of renowned personalities such as Juanjo Llovera, Erika Lima and the special guest, the famous influencer RobeGrill, who traveled from Mexico to attend the competition and additionally provide a Masterclass with his unique style and his famous phrase "Que Chille".

"I am very happy and grateful for the opportunity to be part of La Batalla del Sabor Pepsi. It's very cool to be here watching salvadorans cook with a lot of passion, competitiveness and creativity. I'm really enjoying the atmosphere", commented RobeGrill

However, despite the great talent of the participants and their delicious dishes, not all of them were able to make it to the grand finale, leaving two eliminated from the contest. The first to be eliminated was Boris Chávez, who came in 4th place, taking home Pepsi and MAGGI products.

Later Erika González was eliminated by the jury, coming in 3rd place and taking home a four burner stove and MAGGI product.

Both contestants left happy and with their hands full, because with Pepsi everyone wins.

The final of La Batalla del Sabor Pepsi will take place on march 18 and will be broadcasted on television at 9:00 a.m., where Oswaldo Martínez and Leydi Mejía will be competing for the US$5,000 grand prize.

CBC, through its Pepsi brand, thanks all the participants who said #SíConPepsi and submitted their dishes. Additionally, to the finalists who continue in the "La Batalla del Sabor" competition, the brand wishes them to continue to demonstrate their creativity by putting their best efforts in the final.
