Explora STEAM Student Congress: "A fascinating journey into the world of innovation".

Digicel, celebrates more than two years of its strategic alliance with The Fundación “Rafael Meza Ayau” (FRMA), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), connecting opportunities for the implementation of the "High Impact Project and Sustainable Communities in Soyapango". The main objective of this project is to improve the quality of life of the families of Soyapango through education, innovation, technology and connectivity, by articulating key sectors to increase development opportunities in the municipality.

In this context, last Friday, October 20, the ExploraSTEAM student congress was held: "A fascinating journey into the world of innovation". Students from all schools in the program participated in practical activities and experiments related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) disciplines, generating interactive learning for the development of soft and technological skills applied in a real environment. One of the main components of this alliance is connectivity through Digicel's fiber optics so that children, adolescents and youth of the municipality of Soyapango, maximize their skills through access to cutting-edge educational programs.

"Through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program called ´Conectando Oportunidades´, we seek to support and promote educational and technological initiatives through connectivity. Therefore, we are part of this strategic alliance by providing internet through the newest fiber optic network in the market and our team of specialists, all to benefit young people in the area. We are achieving this together with the Fundación Meza Ayau for a period of 4 years with an investment of more than $150,000.00, improving educational skills through innovation and technology, becoming the network of those who want more connectivity, innovation and education", said Irina Cisneros (Director of Corporate Affairs of Digicel El Salvador).

Currently the project is working with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) methodology, an integrative approach that fosters students' interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics as they develop a variety of important skills, enriching learning experiences with laboratory equipment and strengthening digital education in our country. Since 2022, this strategic alliance is working to reach more than 4,000 students from different schools, equipping laboratories that allow each of their subjects to be applied to the technology environment we are living in today.
