BANCOAGRÍCOLA stands out among the 5 best companies to work for in El Salvador

Written by Alondra Gutiérrez

Bancoagrícola together with its 3 thousand collaborators have evolved their way of working, this has allowed digital adoption, a key alternative, also among the elements that make it stand out for its candidates and collaborators is the evolution towards new ways of working.

Bancoagrícola was selected among the top 5 best companies to work for in El Salvador according to the results of the Empresas Más Atractivas para Trabajar (EMAT) ranking, which for more than 11 years has evaluated the different factors that establish companies as recognized brands in the labor market, as well as the perception of both potential candidates and current employees or even former employees.

Through this evaluation, different components of the organization are analyzed, such as: talent care programs, trainee or young talent programs, work environment, remuneration, benefits, growth, recognition culture, values culture, pride in belonging to the company, institutional image, internal communication, new technologies, among other elements that have been strongly worked on by the company.

Part of the transformation that has helped Bancoagrícola is the support it provides to salvadorans by going digital, thus offering a better service.

Part of the purpose of promoting sustainable development to achieve the welfare of all, and in this effort, along with its nearly 3 thousand employees have evolved their way of working, making digital adoption a key alternative to meet the great challenges generated by the Covid-19 pandemic in the last year.

The use of new technologies is also key among the bank's talent. Since 2018 Bancoagrícola has new ways of working that contemplate digitality and innovation, and that have been complemented with teamwork under agile methodologies in strategic projects of the bank; as well as hybrid work, which can be virtual or face-to-face, without neglecting the work-life balance of its people.

Another key aspect has been the strengthening of their teams and for that, every year they invest in providing learning and development opportunities to all their employees to allow them to grow within the organization.

A clear example was 2020, despite being an atypical year, more than 50% of the growth opportunities were filled with internal talent.

For Bancoagrícola, growth is also accompanied by a work environment that fosters diversity and gender equity, recognizing the importance of supporting female empowerment and working to increase the participation, representation and visibility of women. Currently, more than 53% of leadership positions are held by women and there is a genuine commitment from leaders to create more diverse and equitable spaces, which is why this year, they adhered to the UN Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP) to continue contributing to this goal.

All these efforts together with its collaborators have made possible the evolutionary path that the bank is following, not only with the recent change of its image, but also by supporting two key fronts: the acceleration of the inclusion of entrepreneurial sectors and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the empowerment of women.

"We are clear that the changes are not only aesthetic, this is the result of a clear reading of what is happening in the environment and within us as an organization, a proposal that invites us to transcend with the best human talent, so we are proud because this recognition of the EMAT survey proves that we are on the right track", said Alejandro Gomez Fernandez, vice president of Human Management.

In this way, the bank of Salvadorans works to strengthen its operation, its employees and customers, driven by a genuine commitment to contribute to the welfare of all and be with them from the heart.
