Written by Evelyn Alas

The minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, handed over the keys to their new homes to two families who, as of today, will reside in Los Conacastes, in the municipality of Nejapa, San Salvador.

Both families, for decades, remained in high-risk areas and were affected during the rainy season. Now, with the support of the Central Government, they will have a decent and safe roof.

The head of Housing indicated that the beneficiary families are elderly people who have been given special social attention.

"We looked for the housing solution that they decided on. For months, they visited different areas to choose where to live; but we also made sure that the property they acquired was legally registered and we looked for options until we found a solution", explained the official.

The houses delivered this day have basic services, as well as two bedrooms, ceramic floor, French windows, toilets and other implements to improve the quality of life of its residents.

The Ministry of Housing remains steadfast in its goal to provide security and stability to families and, through the Ministry of Housing, will continue to work towards this.

"We have to guarantee that the land of the house or where it is going to be built is legally registered so that we can give them the deed and they can be sure that they will be able to inherit a property to their children", expressed the head of this State portfolio.
