CABEI to celebrate "Transparency and Access to Information Month"

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) will organize a series of activities during the month of September to commemorate the International Day for Universal Access to Information. The objective of these initiatives is to promote and raise awareness among the Bank's staff and external stakeholders about the importance of access to information to promote transparency.

 

 

Transparency and Access to Information Month will kick off with the webinar "Towards Measuring the Impact of Access to Information and its Benefits" on september 5 at 11:00 a.m. (Honduras). The activity is organized in collaboration with UNESCO, ECLAC and the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Data Protection (INAI) of Mexico. It will feature presentations by experts and specialists in the field. To participate, those interested must register.

On september 7 at 9:00 a.m. (Honduras), the second edition of the “Cátedra Abierta”, will be held. The objective of this initiative is to share information on the Bank's competencies, procedures and accountability mechanisms. Registration is required to participate.

Transparency and Access to Information Month will conclude on september 21 with “Cátedra Abierta”, an activity co-organized by CABEI and universities in the region, with the objective of strengthening dialogue and collaboration with the academic community. The activity will be held at CABEI headquarters in Tegucigalpa with the participation of students and professors from local universities. It will also be transmitted via streaming to other universities in the Bank's member countries.

CABEI Director for Honduras and Vice President of the Communications and Access to Information Committee, Belinda Carias Martínez, said, "These activities allow us to promote our Access to Information Policy as a key tool to strengthen society's trust in our Institution”.
