The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued 850,930 passports to salvadorans residing in the United States through the consular network in four years of management.

"In these four years we have delivered 850,930 passports to compatriots in that nation (of these): 121,742 in the Los Angeles consulate, 104,837 in the Silver Spring consulate and 93,610 in the Houston consulate", the Foreign Ministry indicated.

"Our diaspora is a priority, and for this reason we remain committed to providing quality care, bringing services closer and making it easier for them to obtain their documents. In addition to strengthening the link with the land where they were born", said Foreign Affairs minister Alexandra Hill.

The Central Government has among its priorities the attention of salvadorans living abroad, bringing the services of the institutions closer so that they can manage and complete their procedures in an efficient and timely manner.

"We bring the services of other institutions closer to the nationals in the United States: Eighteen DUI issuance centers of the Registro Nacional de las Personas Naturales (RNPN), five kiosks of the Banco de Fomento Agropecuario, three counters of the Banco Hipotecario de El Salvador and three counters of the Fondo Social para la Vivienda. This is how we continue to serve our Diaspora", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs detailed.

The Central Government has also opened more consulates in the United States so that compatriots have greater access to various services and procedures.

"We settled historical debts with the diaspora by inaugurating eight consulates: in Charlotte, Fresno, Saint Paul, Arkansas, San Bernardino, Nashville, Omaha, Salt Lake City, completing 28 consulates in the United States", the Foreign Ministry highlighted.
