BCR President warns not to give financial information in census

The Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (BCR) will invest US$44 million granted in 2018 by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the census program that begins next monday, september 11.

 

 

Only in technology to carry out the updating and cartographic modernization process in the country, US$10 million has been invested.

In addition, 2,600 people have been hired, through a call that was made in social networks, and more than 8,000 applications were received to enter the database of the personnel that will be in charge of this operation. The process will be 100% digital.

President of the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), Douglas Rodriguez warned the population in an interview that "They do not have to share confidential or financial information", to the information managers who will arrive to census house by house, as part of the cartographic update of the country.

"We are not going to ask you income. We are going to ask how many people live in the place, how many are minors, what the structure is like and if they carry out any self-employed activity. This will serve as input for the population and housing census", said Rodriguez.

On september 11, the cartographic update will begin in the country, thus deploying the bank's personnel nationwide, who will be the information managers.

He also explained that there will be large groups of people, which will be distributed throughout the municipality and different areas. It is a professional and trained operative assured the President of the BCR.

"This process is statistical, to know the infrastructure that the country has and to measure it with the cartographic infrastructure that was registered in 2006. Now, we have a safe country to enter any hamlet, canton or colony. We are going to reach the entire national territory, because this information is important", president of the BCR.

Douglas Rodríguez, pointed out that there will be 100% presence in the national territory and emphasizes that the personnel hired is local to ensure the success of this process.
