How to identify the US$100 bill

The Banco Central de Reserva, BCR, through its social networks, is carrying out a campaign to educate and orient the salvadoran population about the characteristics of the US$100 bill.

In the salvadoran financial system and market circulates the US$100 and US$50 banknote; therefore to know some differences between the other banknotes, this dependence of State has made a series of publications, among them highlights this:

The redesigned $100 bill has optically variable ink in different parts of the paper money elements. The ink changes from copper to green.

According to the BCR, it has always been legal for the US$100 and US$50 bills to circulate.

This currency can be used both to pay and receive bills, based on article 3 of the Monetary Integration Law: Art. 3.- The dollar will be unrestricted legal tender with unlimited liberatory power for the payment of money obligations in the national territory.

While the US$100 bills that belong to the 1996 family, have the following security features: In addition to the ink that changes from green to black and vice versa, you can also feel the high relief when touching the printed character's suit and in the dark parts of the bill.
