How to have a wedding without damaging personal finances

Written by Miguel Crespín

A wedding is expected to be a unique and absolutely perfect day, but is it really worth putting your parents in debt or starting the relationship in the red, just to have one special moment?

Wishing for a perfect wedding day is not a bad thing, but it should not be at the expense of anyone's financial stability. The following list can help you understand the costs normally associated with a wedding:

1 Between the marriage ceremony, reception, attire and rings, flowers and decorations; music and invitations; transportation, lodging and honeymoon the better to decide what is really needed.

blanco, flor, comida, rojo, Boda, matrimonio, pastel, ceremonia, Floristería, la ceremonia, pastel de boda, recepción de la boda, diseño floral, habitación central, Un nuevo estilo de vida, arreglos florales

2 Keep in mind what you can get cheap, so you can start planning by pricing the things you want, to see if they are more or less expensive. As you go through the list, you can also decide what you don't really need and thus reduce costs.

3 The next step should be to determine what you can get from friends and family to provide things for free or at cost. If you have a friend with a talent for floral design, you can agree to do the bouquets for as little as possible. Or if either parent has a beautiful backyard for the ceremony and a large home for the reception, you can cut those costs altogether.
