With the approval of 79 deputies of the Legislative Assembly, El Salvador will be placed at the forefront of the digitization of checks, making it the first country in the region to reduce the disbursement of funds with this type of cancellation.

The Financial Commission of the Legislative Assembly has initiated the study of the proposal to reform the Code of Commerce, in order to eliminate the physical exchange of a check and replace it with an electronic registry that expedites the clearing process, in order to release funds in less time.
