Construction sector has contributed US$1.8 billion to salvadoran economy by 2023

The Presidential Commissioner for Strategic Projects, Cristian Flores, said this morning in an interview that public and private investment in the construction sector has boosted the economy and has shown a 17.9% growth in the sector.

That is to say that a little more than US$1,800 million additional to 2022 has been contributed in the construction sector.

The official detailed that the investment rates and the level of exports in the country have had a record level, adding that the industries that are in this business have allowed El Salvador to grow in its exports.

Emphasizing that the country is projected as a place of open doors, safe, touristic and that not only thinks of its citizens, but in all those tourists who can enjoy sports or other activities.

In this regard, the Legislative Assembly recently approved an investment of US$100 million for the Ministerio de Obras Públicas (MOP), which will intervene in the national unpaved tertiary and rural road network in different departments of the country, such as Usulután, San Miguel and La Unión.

The program has three components: the rehabilitation or improvement of rural roads with an investment of US$95 million; the strengthening of road management with US$3 million; and administration, evaluation, and audits, with a contribution of US$2 million.

These projects, which will be executed over the next few months, will work with respect for the environmental and social components in the communities involved.

The development of these works will improve conditions for the creation and installation of new businesses that contribute to the country's economy.
