Ministerio de Trabajo seeks to expand Labor Migration Program to Mexico

The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Rolando Castro, visited the Federal District of Mexico, in order to meet with authorities and businessmen of that North American country, and promote the Labor Migration Program, which has benefited many salvadorans with a decent job abroad.

The first approach was with the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Center for Social Security, Alvaro Velarca, in order to ensure that compatriots residing in Mexico on a regular basis can access comprehensive social security services.

Later, he met with Mexican businessmen to whom he explained the program, which is one of the most successful of the Central Government.

The official explained that during his visit to Mexico he held a meeting with businessmen to take the Labor Migration Program to that country so that workers can go to work in a legal and orderly manner; we are fine-tuning salaries and benefits with the businessmen, blessing to be able to help those who need it most.

During his tour in Mexico, in addition to the Labor Migration Program and the inclusion in social security for the compatriots, Rolando Castro will also address the Returned Migrant Program and the entrepreneurship program, as well as sign a letter of understanding and manage technical cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, the Labor Migration program began in 2019 and to date has managed to place salvadorans in specific jobs in areas such as agriculture, industry and construction, in countries such as the United States and Canada.
