The Director of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) for El Salvador, Luis Rodríguez announced that he has delivered another US$500 thousand, totaling US$1 million this month.

These funds will support the Ministerio de Obras Públicas (MOP), the Ministerio de Hacienda and the Agencia de El Salvador para la Cooperación Internacional (ESCO)in assisting those affected by Tropical Storm Julia.

Likewise, the donation could benefit many people and institutions affected by Tropical Storm Julia, which, after passing through the country, caused structural damage to drainage systems, collapsed walls, damage to road infrastructure, and damage to agricultural crops.

The resources of this non-reimbursable cooperation may be used for medical attention and the purchase of goods for primary use; the purchase of inputs, materials and labor for construction and other damaged infrastructure, as well as the purchase of agricultural inputs for the recovery of crops.

The funds will be executed by the MOP, which will be in charge of following up on all matters related to this cooperation, which is framed within the CABEI Emergency and Natural Disaster Assistance Regulations under the emergency assistance modality.
