These resources come from the loan agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). With this amount, resources would be incorporated to the Ministry of Economy.
According to Cabrera, this is to complement other resources that this institution has to grant non-refundable co-financing to MSMEs, through the Fondo Productivo (FONDEPRO), through the second edition of the contest called "Reconverting the Territory 2021", which aims to mitigate the impact generated by the pandemic and global emergency of COVID-19 in the business fabric.
This investment is expected to generate more than $6.7 million in incremental sales for the companies that are participating in the contest and are the winners of these resources; more than US$98 thousand for sales recovery; more than 200 new jobs; and around US$148 thousand in operational savings for the companies.

These funds will be used to continue with the execution of Component I of the Investment Program; Components I, III and IV of the Programa de Corredores Productivos, aimed at productive development for the competitiveness of Micro, Pequeña y Mediana Empresa (MIPYME), Environmental Management of the Franja Costero Marina (FCM) and institutional strengthening.
