The new variations in the reference prices of fuels in the country, for this fortnight, are presented as follows:
- Superior gasoline will increase US$0.06/gallon in the central and western zones of the country, in the eastern zone it will increase US$0.05/gallon.
- Regular gasoline will increase US$0.04/gallon in the three zones of the country.
- Low sulfur diesel will increase US$0.07/gallon in the three zones of the country.
The Ministerio de Economía announces that the reference prices for fuels, effective from June 1 to 14, 2021.
The variation is due to external factors such as:
- Summer season increases gasoline and diesel prices in the United States.
- Reduction in strategic gasoline and diesel reserves, reported by the International Energy Agency.
- Next meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies generated speculative prices.
The prices published by the Ministerio de Economía are suggested and the service stations are the ones that establish them, according to supply and demand. In El Salvador, liquid fuel prices are liberalized.
