Operating a port requires the highest quality standards in occupational health and safety and environmental management, which is why the entire Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana team works hard and dedicates many hours of work to synchronize and standardize their actions. The terminal has ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications, all in their latest version.

Jhuez International Group was the certifying company that carried out an exhaustive evaluation and auditing process at Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana, verifying compliance with the requirements and standards established by each of these international standards. The certifier was very pleased with the success in obtaining these important certifications, which demonstrate OPC's commitment to quality, occupational safety and environmental care.

The company has been certified since 2017, each certification is valid for three years, so this is the third time that the Integrated Management System in Puerto Cortes has been certified. This certification is valid until 2026.

"We expect these achievements to further boost Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana's growth and reputation in its sector. Without a doubt, these certifications are a well-deserved recognition for the hard work and dedication of its entire team", commented Jorge Jhuéz CEO of Jhuez International Group.

OPC has certified not only the company's production process, but also all areas that in some way impact the service provided by the company, including standardized services of excellence to users and customers of the port terminal, suppliers, authorities, and the community in general.

Maintaining internationally recognized certifications is a constant challenge that involves continuous improvement in the identification of risks, the application of controls, and the awareness of personnel regarding safety in the operations and activities developed.

For OPC, these certifications are due to the creation of a healthy environment, and commitment to the worker as the most important element within the organization. In addition, it generates benefits related to leadership and corporate responsibility, motivation and involvement of workers, and promotes a culture of safety and health at work and the environment.

Puerto Cortes is today the only CA-4 port, and one of the few ports globally, to have these three integrated certifications.
