Fundación Herbalife Nutrition raises $1.5 million to meet the nutrition needs of vulnerable children

The Fundación Herbalife Nutrition (HNF), dedicated to improving the lives of children and families around the world, announced that it reached its goal of raising $1.5 million at its annual fundraising gala, which supports more than 178 organizations in 59 countries with the "Casa Herbalife" program. 

 

 

Through its partners, including hospitals, orphanages, schools and nonprofit organizations fighting hunger, the Foundation helps improve the lives of children by providing healthy nutrition and nutrition education. The Gala was attended by employees and Herbalife Independent Distributors.

"We are grateful for the ongoing generosity of Herbalife employees and Independent Distributors in our shared mission to ensure that children and communities around the world have access to the meals, nutrition and care they need to transform their lives", said Fundación Herbalife Nutrition, executive director Jenny Perez.

In addition to funds raised in support of more than 178 organizations in 59 countries, the international nonprofit foundation also recognized Humanitarian Award winners from around the world.  Since 2007, HNF has annually presented global and regional humanitarian awards to five Herbalife Independent Distributors who embody the foundation's mission.  The following humanitarians were chosen for their philanthropic activity, community leadership, volunteerism and advocacy activities. 

The winners of the 16th annual Global and Regional Humanitarian Awards are:

Trey and Mamie Herron- Global Humanitarian Award and North American Humanitarian Award.

Katherine Yiu and Felan Yu- Asia Pacific Regional Humanitarian Award

Adriano Allegretti- Europe & Africa Humanitarian Award

Herlinda Quiroz and Juan Carlos Ruvalcaba- Regional Humanitarian Award for Mexico

Sonia Sanabria Paniagua and Jaime Pérez - Humanitarian Award for Central and South America, both based in Bolivia.

In 2022, HNF awarded more than $5.12 million to 178 exceptional organizations in 59 countries to support Casa Herbalife programs and those affected by the crisis in Ukraine, as well as other disaster relief efforts around the world.

In the Central and South America region, HNF currently has 17 nonprofit organizations in 13 countries, enabling more than 3,300 children to get the medical care, education and balanced nutrition they need to shine in the future.

In 2022, USD $293,000 was donated to the Casa Herbalife program in the region, funds that were earmarked to support nutrition, education and wellness projects for the children of each of the foundations.
