The idea of requesting this reform is due to the approval of the Transitory Law for the Delivery of the Economic Compensation and Stabilization of the Tariffs of the Public Service of Collective Transportation of Passengers.
Currently, 8,829 units receive the subsidy and this guarantees that the transportation service will continue to be provided to users in a continuous, regular and uniform manner.
This decree was extended until april 2024, as it has generated a series of benefits for the transportation sector and the population, therefore, it is necessary to make this modification to this year's budget.
The reform will prevent any further delays in the payment of subsidies and will leave a budget line established for 2023.
In addition, with the modification to the 2023 Budget Law in the Public Works branch, a specific source will be created to allow this ministry to continue with the payment of the subsidy.
Likewise, the officials call on salvadorans to denounce if they know of any type of abuse, since the increase in fares is against the law and deserves a fine. Undoubtedly, this initiative will benefit the entire population.
