"In june of this year, we opened the call for the Premio Ayudando a Quienes Ayudan, in its three modalities under the slogan "Contagiemos la esperanza".
The award team took this slogan very passionately and was able to reach many corners of our country to share and explain how to apply for the award; in this way ADESCOS, schools, and other organizations were invited to participate. At the close of entries in july, we received 102 applications, 46% more than in the last edition, which impressed us because of the level of determination and work that each organization is already doing in their communities.
This day we are awarding a group of winners, who are solidary people who have their hearts in their work and with whom we can find a synergy to continue helping more sectors in a more efficient way", commented Juana Jule, executive director of Fundación Gloria Kriete.
The Premio Ayudando a Quienes Ayudan is a recognition that includes economic support for initiatives of people and organizations that work to improve the living conditions of the population in vulnerable situations.
"When talking about work in the communities, there is no better reference than the leaders of these communities themselves. They know best the needs of each place and know which solutions are the best to apply. At Fundación Gloria Kriete, through the Premio Ayudando a Quienes Ayudan, we learn from them and support them so that their work has even more impact.
In the Fundación Gloria Kriete we have been strengthening a network of organizations that are transforming El Salvador for 15 years, and these awards are a fundamental part of the work of expanding the scope of projects that seek these same objectives", explained Roberto Kriete, president of the Fundación Gloria de Kriete.
The award for the Community Development category is the first to be presented today, monday, november 15, while the Social Entrepreneurship category will be presented on tuesday, november 16, and the NGO category on thursday, november 18. All the awards will be broadcast on Facebook Live.
The award was originally given to non-governmental organizations, but since 2018, it was decided to also recognize companies with a social vocation and community leaders.
In the Community Development Award category, 18 finalists were chosen and in this edition they all received a prize that will allow them to continue working for their communities.
