In 2021, the Social Fund for Housing (FSV) achieved a record number of deeds, benefiting 7,503 families, with an amount of US$161 million. Ninety-six percent of these loans were for low-income housing, making the FSV the number one in the financial system in this segment.
The minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, said that 16,700 families have been granted loans to buy homes with a total amount of US$337 million.
In addition, the official highlighted the benefits brought by the Plan Control Territorial in the housing sector to recover houses, for example, that were usurped in some communities.
The Central Government has in effect articulated work thinking in the benefit of people with less income that is why the Housing System is generating the conditions that facilitate the construction procedures for social interest projects, so that the Banco de Desarrollo de El Salvador (BANDESAL), can grant them credit.
Builders who decide to carry out social interest projects will also be able to offer new homes of up to US$30,000 through the FSV with rates of 4%, with zero premiums.
