Companies such as ANDA, FIAES, Amaco WAVIN, among others, showed through different presentations, the importance of water and its crucial conservation in the salvadoran ecosystem, especially in the context of current global environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss, pollution and climate change.
In addition, the actions that companies are taking in favor of the preservation of water resources, such as reforestation plans, preservation of protected areas as well as wildlife, programs that reflect an integral approach to environmental conservation, addressing the need to protect biodiversity, combat climate change and ensure the sustainability of water resources for future generations, were also discussed.
The importance of sustainability in the construction sector was also addressed, focusing on the environmental impact it has, especially in terms of water use and CO2 emissions, while at the same time a call to action was made for companies in the sector to drive sustainable improvements not only in new projects but also in existing buildings, through sustainability-oriented reforms.
Mention was made of the effort to change the negative perception towards builders, highlighting their active participation in improving sustainability and adopting more environmentally friendly practices, involving a commitment to reducing the carbon footprint and improving water management, among other important environmental aspects.
